Respecting the rules…

When it comes to business networking meetings, are you respecting the rules they have or are you only selfishly trying to sell your self and your business? I see the later in way too many situations where someone decides that the rules are null and void when it comes to them sharing about their business and what they have to offer.

Respecting the rules and the contradictions…

Yet, in many cases, these people that ignore the buzzer, timer or bell are the first to huff and puff when someone else goes over on time.

A wonderful contradiction, right?

Respecting the rules to receive respect

If you want to be respected, it is best to respect the rules, the times and the way a meeting is run. Just because a networking group doesn’t operate the way you want it to, does not mean it is yoru place to change it when you have the spotlight.

Respecting the rules showcases the respect you have for others.

By showing a consideration for the clock, the person that might be speaking before you or after you and how a specific meeting is run can showcase you in some ways, just as strongly as your pitch. Your awareness, respect, professionalism and understanding of how things operate is going to highlight you worlds more than taking time that isn’t yours.

Seems like a silly and pointless blog to write, especially about adults and yet, so many act like little kids and forget the rest of the room when it is their turn for show and tell.
