<p>For the TAG2nd video tip of today, it is all about the best social media marketing and promotion steps to take when you are first launching a social media site and the best way to get new fans.</p>
<p>The problem is that once you open or start up one of these sites and ask for new fans to like, follow, or friend you, when you have nothing up there, you really aren’t deliver the best social media or social media marketing to push your music, your brand or your page.</p>
<p>Put up some tweets on a<a title="Twitter page" href="http://twitter.com/lorenweisman" target="_blank"> twitter page </a>that lead to some videos on a <a title="YouTube Page" href="http://youtube.com/lorenweisman" target="_blank">YouTube page</a> or posts on a Facebook page or pictures shared on a Pinterest page. Give a fan a little taste of what you are about and give them an actual reason to like you. Other wise you are telling people to like something they don’t even know about on a page where nothing is up to capture or maintain their interest.</p>
<p>Populate your pages, give them content and give those new fans and old fans a reason to follow you.</p>

<h3>Woodbury Walking Dead Set &#8211; More than meets the eye</h3>
<p>For those of you that watch AMC’s The Walking Dead, you might recognize a background that is called Woodbury in the show. It is a gated community for lack of a better description, where  the <strong>Woodbury Walking Dead</strong> bad guy and resident crazy dude runs a small militia. Well, not going to dig to far in to the Walking Dead TV Show, but it is a key scene location in the last couple <a title="seasons" href="http://www.walmart.com/ip/20977514?wmlspartner=wlpa&amp;adid=22222222227000000000&amp;wl0=&amp;wl1=g&amp;wl2=&amp;wl3=21486607510&amp;wl4=&amp;wl5=pla&amp;veh=sem" target="_blank">seasons</a>.</p>

<p>The town is Senoia Ga and it is beautiful. What is displayed as the Woodbury Walking Dead <a title="post apocalyptic town" href="http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=post%20apocalyptic%20town" target="_blank">post apocalyptic town</a> is a beautiful town. A small building that is part of the set stands even when they are not shooting the walking dead and there are some Hollywood style, stay off this area signs that are placed around familiar locations.<a href="http://www.lorenweisman.com/2013/05/10/woodbury-walking-dead/woodbury-walking-dead-senoia-ga-walking-dead-tv-show/" rel="attachment wp-att-15249"><br /></a></p>
<p>But when it is Woodbury, it looks like a <a title="compound" href="http://forums.macresource.com/read/1/1536438" target="_blank">compound </a>with a town inside it. Zombies in cages and in a war torn ruin is the presentation. The antique shops, of Senoia Ga, are replaced with very bland doors and broken out windows with wood covering them. A lot goes in to the transformation of Senoia GA in to Woodbury from the Walking Dead. Time, money, production, development, direction and execution to make something appear a lot different from what it usually is.</p>
<p>The point is, that whether it is a Woodbury Walking Dead set or your favorite artist, you mighty not be aware of just how much goes in to the production, the change and the work to make one thing appear as another. Making assumptions based off of production, budgets and time you may not be aware of can be a detrimental mistake.</p>
<p>Before you follow the model or method of someone else, make sure you find out as much as you can about what is happening behind the scenes before you make decisions based on only appearances that could end up to be a horrific shocker to your outcome or your career. </p>

<h3>What is a business consultant, producer and coach? </h3>
<p>I have always hated the term consultant or <strong>business consultant</strong>, but the more I have gone to a more speaking, seminar and <a title="advisory role" href="http://www.thefreedictionary.com/advisory" target="_blank">advisory role</a>, the more the term seems to fit more and more. I use the term consultant, producer and coach as my tagline, because it represents what I do in the best summary. <p>The core of what I do begins with the consulting and understanding of where an artist, a <a title="manager" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Manager" target="_blank">manager</a>, label or even business is outside of music. This is the stage where we find out what is working, what isn’t and finding the root of the foundation that is going to be built on. Next is the producer role.</p>
<p>As a music producer for a number of years, I would not just produce the album, I would produce the plan for the production of the album along with the steps to take after it was done. This is where the business consultant shifts to the business producer in a way and the design of a plan will focus around the music marketing, the business marketing and the online marketing as well as the music business plan that the artist or company is going to apply.</p>
<p>Then producer shifts to coach. And this is one of the most important elements I have to clarify with artists and businesses. I AM NOT DOING IT FOR YOU!!! I work with those that are ready to do the work together and build the plan that they will execute. Whether it is doing it your self or soliciting to labels, management groups or talent buyers, this is the whole learn to fish as opposed to someone fishing for you.</p>
<p>These are the three elements I deliver as a business consultant, producer and coach. My focus is music and it is the world I have been in, but I do welcome businesses and people outside of music since many of these concepts stretch beyond just the <a title="music industry" href="http://pinterest.com/lorenweisman/music-industry-memes-from-loren-weisman/" target="_blank">music industry</a>.</p>
<p>Still, my style is working with some one. If you want to work with me, you work WITH me. I don’t work for you. I am here to empower, enable and educate. If you need a business consultant to do all the work for you and give you a soft life coaching bullshit pat on the back, working with me will not work.</p>

<p>There are a lot of fish in the sea and this is important to remember that when you are forming <strong>your band</strong> or when you choose the other musicians you want to work with. When it comes down to <a title="good relationships" href="http://www.lifeoptimizer.org/2008/08/25/good-relationships/" target="_blank">good relationships</a> between working musicians, it often times means you have to be able to work together from a musical, business, intellectual and emotional stand point if you want the best chances of solid long term relationships that are productive and profitable.</p>

<p>Whether you are forming your band, joining another band or finding the right working musicians that will work right with you, it is crucial to think outside of just the music you are playing. If things start to go well, can you deal with being around these people or this person 24/7? Do you have the similar views or specific things from work ethic to politics or have you found the right people for your band that can compromise and take you as you are for you as you take them as they are for them? These are all questions that should be addressed as well as preparing for the <a title="best case scenarios" href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iFsOtiu_jbg" target="_blank">best case scenarios</a> and the worst case scenarios right out of the gate. In chapter two: Your band: Working with other musicians, I run through a number of ideas to consider, implement and apply in a personalized way to fit your band or your situation.  </p>
