Do I need an NDA and Confidentiality Agreement?

Plenty of people get plenty excited to share ideas, information and even proprietary information that can easily be taken, used and exploited by someone that might already have a team, a budget, and the money. If you have an ounce of concern that something like that could happen, an NDA and confidentiality agreement is a safe route to go.

At the same time, if you are looking to work with those that maintain proprietary works, offering to sign an NDA and confidentiality agreement can showcase both your professionalism as your efforts to keep them safe and secure.

Do I need one? Do they need one?

These extra steps to protect your work and other peoples work can build in and build up trust and better relationships. Talk is cheap, but protection on paper and in written contracts can prevent many issues from arising.

While it is not the end all be all, take the time to create one that sets a solid level of protection. Just using a free template online can often times in the end not protect you the way you might think. Be sure to find the legal help to organize an NDA in the most personalized way that can assist you.
