Why posting the same content is a bad idea
More and more people seem to post certain things over and over again. Maybe it comes from feeling like they have no idea what to post, so they will either go back to a popular post or try to promote something that didn’t get its fair shake.
The problem is that by reposting, especially if you copy the blog or the content exactly, hurt you with the search engines as they see duplicate content. They are seeing something that you already put out there and in the end, it will cancel the potential optimization completely out.
It can be annoying to fans
Reposting the same post a few times to be seen is not good promotion and it hurts your brand messaging strategy as a whole as well. Instead, if you are reposting a link, give it a different header, a different lead in to maintain the interest of the existing fan but also draw in the person that hasn’t seen you before.
By using links to content you already posted and changing that headline, you will not negatively affect the search engines and with that new or different headline, you will draw in the interest that much more.
Why posting the same content no’s
– Here are a couple no ’s and simple tips:
Don’t copy a press release, a blog or other content into a new post. Give it a new headline and link it back to the original post.
Don’t repost the same post on Facebook, on Twitter or on other social media sites on top of each other. It looks unprofessional.
Don’t repost the same post day after day. If you need to take a break, take a break, but the same posts are only annoying and pushing away your fans as new people see that you are only sharing the same thing over and over.
Lastly and why posting the same content over and over is a bad idea is that you lose engagement and interest.
Sometimes it can be better to say or post nothing at all, over posting something over and over and over and over.
