You are going to fail

You will fail. You will mess up. You will make mistakes and it will hurt.

But future success comes down to the person and how they handle those failures, mess ups, mistakes, and pain.

Or, in other words, a simple question…

In facing the fact that you are going to fail, are you going to overcome, organize, problem solve and make the changes needed?

Are you stewarding strategic solutions during times of failure?

Or, are you wasting time moping, whining, blaming, quitting or giving those puppy dog eyes to the world, hoping someone else will fix it for you?

Or, are you working to fix what can be saved, avoid repeating the mistakes from before, problem-solving and learning the ways to take the best steps forward?

Everyone can be amazing when everything is going as planned. It is a select few that can handle themselves in failure with the same honor, respect and professionalism. 

Your mistakes aren’t learning experiences… if you aren’t learning from them. 

If you fail, if you make mistakes and if you are working to learn from and not repeat those mistakes, a failure can be a growth opportunity.

You are going to fail…cause…

Everyone fails. Everyone makes mistakes.

But it is a select few that stand up, brush it off and get right back to making the right things happen in the best ways possible.

Take the steps and build up the ability to handle and take the hits as you continue to move onward, upward and forward.

Too many, spend too much time in a focus around the failure, instead of a figuring state of what when wrong, why it when wrong, how it went wrong and then setting in place the problem solving to not repeat it, while at the same time, considering change management, reinforcing existing strategic plans or other ways to move forward and past it.

Back to the drawing board can be a good thing. Whether it is resetting and revisiting a brand discovery or taking some time with defining your brand messaging where you might have skipped over it in the past, these can be the reinforcing elements that can fix the issue but also help with other issues as well.

Do not use laziness as an excuse that it’s ok to fail though….

Stay out of the failure acceptance and rationalizing swamp.

That place where many that fail sit in those failures, explain who’s fault it was and why the failure happened.

That is not learning and moving on, that is settling and sulking in that failure. That ends up being the negative that only attracts the negative.

There is a positive side to it.

Understanding that you are going to fail does not make you a negative person. And it is not setting you up for disaster.

It allows you to be able to move on from them, if or when they happen with the best steps and the best foot or feet forward.

Take the good in stride, just as you take the bad in stride to stay in forward motion.
