Musical Influences
These are my Musical Influences. From the people that inspired me as a drummer, as a music producer as a music consultant and as an author, these are the people that made the difference. These are the people that made me listen in a different way and helped me grow as a musician, as a business person and the people that inspired me to write my book.
Musical Influences
What are your musical influences and what inspired you? When thinking of where you want to go, it is always a great thing to step back and look at where it is coming from. Learning from the past and those musicians that came before you can help you grow in a way like no other.
Finding connection, inspiration and influence from as many different sources as you can, will assist you in creating a voice that is yours while still reflecting those that inspired you and those you have been influenced by.
Not only is sharing influences a great thing to connect with other musicians in your band or other musicians and bands that you may play with, but it can be a great part of a music advertisement when you are looking for other musicians to work with.
It crosses over to branding and promotion as well. Sharing this in a part of your bio as well as having a page on your website and having some blogs on your musical influences can help bring in more fans. By explaining who inspired you, how they inspired you and where part of your sound comes from, you are able to reach out to be that share those similarities and in turn, they may be drawn to check you out.
Interesting content from blogs to videos to pictures that share your excitement, your stories and your experiences with certain musicians and bands, different artists and albums creates a bond across music to those that might not be musicians but love the same artists you are inspired by.
So list out your musical influences and share them on your websites and social media. Add some of them to your bio and promotional materials. Make the story about your music be as broad and wide as possible to allow the most people to connect and build interest even before they hear you and you may find that many more people coming to check you out.
