This is the website for Loren "Pookie" Weisman.

Loren is a drummer, producer and educator that lives in Western Massachusetts. He also created Protectomatic Music, a company that helps and consults for independent musicians around the country.

Loren has performed on numerous albums, movie soundtracks and commercials. He has worked with bands and artists from all over the world as a session player, a first call substitute and also as a producer.

"Loren's approach is characterized by a broad dynamic range and a unique sensitivity to everything from lyric to instrumentation. He plays for the song, locking the groove, holding the time and evincing an intuitive grasp of when to play and when to be sparse. Loren incorporates original blendings of styles and percussive ideas into drumset grooves to create a sound that can be heard on over 200 recordings. When not behind the kit you can find him behind the board producing or working with others trying to break in to the music world".
